Sales Engineer

Job Description

Sales Engineers at Cloud Elements perform a wide range of duties; from delivering technical presentations and demonstrations to managing the evaluation process, conducting detailed requirements analysis understanding the competitive marketplace, performing technical account management, and coding/delivering proof-of-concept and prototype projects.

We need a diverse individual who will not only support our sales team but spread the good word about the innovative technology development happening at Cloud Elements.  This role will provide superior service to our customers; listen to our partners and the community.  We need you to network with industry pundits, influencers, and analysts to achieve the ultimate reach with our message.  

This key position will own 50% of the decisions and responsibilities in the sales process. Cloud Elements SE's will be expected to take great initiative to understand customers' problems and deliver viable solutions.


More about this role:

  • Work side by side with the sales team to support customers and the sales cycle from beginning to close to post sales support.

  • Evangelize our products in person and online by presenting at conferences, blogging, writing technical tutorials, and other similar activities

  • Partner with company leaders and engineers to gain a deep understanding of our technology, mission, vision, and strategy to take with you on your endeavors.

  • Keep your finger on the pulse of what is current in development technologies

  • Report back to the team the information you are learning from the community

  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers, community leaders, and influencers

  • Engaging the student, startup and professional developer communities in person and online


What we would like you to have:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Background in software development a must!

  • Experience with the sales cycle, excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent communicator – written and spoken. Comfortable speaking one-on-one and in front of large groups. 

  • Exposure to SaaS, IaaS, PaaS concepts and current Cloud technologies.

  • MUST be familiar with Java, Ruby, and object oriented development and web technologies.

  • Good knowledge of RESTful design and best practices

  • Experience using and integrating with RESTful APIs

  • Active GitHub profile would be a huge plus!
