A Quality Assurance Manager at Cloud Elements will design and implement processes, systems and methods to ensure that our internal and external customer requirements are met before our products are used by its stakeholders. You will oversee a team of 3 to 5 Quality Assurance engineers, design their work practices and procedures, implement test frameworks, and build our quality assurance system from the ground up. This role reports directly to the VP of Product.

An excellent Quality Assurance Manager has eyes like a hawk, solid experience in quality control, and building QA systems and processes from scratch. The ideal candidate is a reliable and competent professional whose approval will be required for all software releases to customers. Cloud Elements aims to be a quality driven company and wants to operate a zero defect policy.

Your goal is to measurably improve the quality of our product and operations, thereby improving to the long-term success of our business.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop procedures and processes for inspecting and reporting quality assurance issues

  • Lead a QA team of 3 to 5 quality assurance staff, which includes a mix of onshore and offshore resources

  • Monitoring all operations and processes that affect the quality of our products

  • Manage our QA reporting tools and case management systems

  • Design and implement QA processes and procedures for optimum throughput

  • Oversee and potentially re-engineer our automated test frameworks

  • Assure the reliability and consistency of our production systems

  • Triage and verify defects and issues affecting customers before raising defects for engineering

  • Appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied

  • Automate UI testing for our core product

  • Automate UI testing for our customers’ products

  • Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data

  • Own the QA aspects of the company’s SDLC

  • Keep records of quality reports, statistical reviews and relevant documentation

  • Ensure all legal standards are met

  • Communicate with external auditors during on-site inspections

What we would like you to have: 

  • An obsession with quality

  • 5-10 years of software QA test and development experience

  • 4-year degree, preferably in CS or another technical field

  • Experience with JavaScript, Java, C#, Node, Python or similar technologies

  • Strong knowledge of the art of quality assurance, software QA experience in particular, release methodologies, and QA automation tools and processes

  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Strong understanding of Rest APIs and API testing approaches

  • Adept at reading and understanding API Documentation

  • Extensive hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing

  • Agile/Scrum development process

  • Familiar with bug tracking tools and test case management tools

  • Enthusiasm for “breaking stuff”

  • Be highly driven to find bugs and help us develop the best products on the market

Working knowledge of the following:

  • A wide variety of cloud and on-promise technologies

  • Selenium or equivalent UI automation technologies

  • Javascript, Node JS, or similar scripting languages

  • Comfortable with Unix shell

  • UI Testing

  • API Service Testing

Bonus points if you have:

  • Chakram and Mocha Experience

  • Postman knowledge

  • SQL experience

  • JUnit/NUnit skills
