Ciitizen’s mission is to provide Earth’s 7.3 billion citizens with control of their complete health information and give them the choice of sharing it with whomever they want. Period. With this new ownership, patients can share their health history with caregivers, share for second opinions, and with companies/researchers who may hold the answer to their treatment.
All patients have a right to all of their health information, yet existing portals pull only minimal clinical information from a fraction of health care institutions. Current “interoperability” initiatives leave the patient out of the picture and often rely on armies of manual labor to extract key health insights from unstructured textual data—an expensive model which doesn’t scale.
In the near future, citizens will walk into a clinical facility and, with a simple tap of a mobile device, release their health information to themselves, where Ciitizen normalizes unstructured data from across the healthcare ecosystem into actionable visualizations for patients, their caregivers, and clinicians.
Ciitizen has assembled an all-star team, led by its CEO, Anil Sethi (last company was sold to Apple) and is backed by a strong investment team led by Andreessen Horowitz and general partner Vijay Pande.
About the Role
Ciitizen is looking for our first Product Operations Manager -- a dedicated and data-driven critical thinker with a passion for healthcare. We’re looking for someone with sufficient experience to drive our clinical product roadmap while owning operational/process improvements, day-to-day tactical execution, and QA workstreams.
As a Product Operations Manager at Ciitizen, you’ll make it possible to improve our clinical product line to empower patients with their medical history. You will lead cross-functional projects designed to improve Ciitizen’s clinical operational efficiency and readiness. This role will have two primary focus areas. First, developing and owning the technical roadmap for clinical products that drive Ciitizen’s medical data processing, where a critical component will be liaising between Clinical Operations and Engineering teams. Second, you will own scaling Clinical Operations so that we can empower more patients with the same pool of resources.
In addition, the Product Operations Manager will work across teams to guarantee operational readiness, including Clinical Operations, Health Information Operations, Engineering, Corporate Development, Privacy, Legal, and Customer Support. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering an excellent customer experience, achieving product objectives, and collaborating with multiple partners.
To be clear, we are looking for the ultimate start-up ProdOps who is excited by an opportunity to own a critical workstream. You will need to drive both clinical product strategy and get into the weeds on implementation, QAing bugs, testing new approaches, thinking outside the box, etc. all while maintaining an eye toward data quality. We are seeking candidates who are flexible, optimistic, and obsessed with data quality. In addition, you should have a passion and tolerance for working in a small, start-up environment without big budgets or the support of dedicated engineering teams.
Your day-to-day will involve:
Develop and own the technical roadmap for the clinical products that drive our company’s medical data processing, where a critical component will be liaising between Clinical Operations and Engineering teams to ensure our product is meeting the needs of our business teams
Scale the clinical operations workflows so that we can empower more patients with the same pool of resources
Planning, coordinating, and driving discipline around the processes for testing, launching and rollout of new clinical products and features
Leading the QA workflow between Clinical Operations and Engineering to troubleshoot, document, and resolve bugs in our clinical products
Ensuring that the Clinical Operations teams is ready with the workflows and processes required to support new products and features (i.e., training, playbooks, documentation, resolution paths, FAQs, etc)
Developing, managing, and continuously improving processes for scale that help the Clinical Operations team meet its goals more efficiently and effectively
Collect, prioritize and communicate product-related challenges to be considered by product and engineering in future development
Surfacing customer or operational use-cases and edge-cases to validate requirements and proposed product solutions
Partnering with customer-facing and operations teams to help them make more tailored content for specific audiences
Serving as a central point of contact for inbound requests from other teams, responding (or appropriately routing them) to save engineering time
Some things we consider critical for this role:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
3+ years working experience in program or project management, product operations, consulting, or healthcare operations role that worked closely with product and engineering teams
Experience building trusted partnerships with operations and engineering teams
Exceptional project management skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects with deadlines
Ability to drive data analysis and build custom dashboards
Attention to detail and cross-functional relationship management skills
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to drive multiple competing arguments to a mutually beneficial decision in a world with highly limited resources
Experience working at a fast-paced healthcare company
Familiarity with medical terminology and processes
