Job Description

Choice Translating is an interpreting agency that helps hospitals, social workers, schools, police departments and other agencies communicate with non-English speaking people in our community. We provide interpreting services in more than 176 different languages. Choice Translating has been in business since 1995, and we are always recruiting talented, bilingual people to become contract interpreters.

Choice Translating helps reduce the risk of miscommunication for our clients. Our interpreters are the communication bridge that enables non-English speakers to overcome the language and cultural barriers facing them in all kinds of situations. 

You would work closely with our highly experienced scheduling and operations team to carry out interpreting assignments in and around Charlotte, North Carolina. This posting is for an on-site (face to face) interpreter.

About you (Requirements):

-Fully fluent in English and at least one other language (speaking and writing)

-Minimum 21 years of age

-You have authorization to work for any employer in the USA

-Looking for flexible schedule as a freelancer/contractor, with ability to set your own schedule

-Have personal schedule management skills

-Professional and courteous

-Own a car, enjoy driving and working in different locations/settings

-Know how to navigate using road maps, navigational apps, or GPS

-You have drivers insurance

-Own a cell phone (preferably a smart phone)

-Have basic computer skills

-Passionate about helping others and making the world a better place, as well as overcoming language barriers

-Invested in always doing the right thing and maintaining high standards for your work

-Not judgemental of others, and able to keep sensitive information completely confidential

-Able and willing to work in health care, social services, school and law enforcement situations
