Our San Jose facility is a high volume food distribution environment that is hiring energetic and quality oriented AM Cook . We have a full time positions that work Sunday - Thursday and follow the school year calendar. Perfect for families to enjoy the holidays off!
The following shifts are available:
Full time Sun-Thur - early AM
The ideal candidates has experience in a high volume food environment. Must have a passion for producing quality food in a manufacturing type environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
This is a key kitchen role that is responsible for the daily production and assembly of all cooked foods. Must be able to follow standardized recipes to produce high volume batches of quality products.Able to work well under pressure and execute with proper technique that assures our Companies High Standards are delivered always. Ability to create and follow a production Schedule. Ability to work quickly and move from task to task without disruption. Interfaces with the management Team to provide input on continuous quality improvement and new recipe development and production shortcomings. Able to problem solve culinary issues and provide real solutions that drive quality while meeting HACCP, regulatory, and budget requirements.Highly skilled with the use of knives and kitchen equipment including rack ovens, tilt skillets, meat slicers, rice cookers, stock pot burners, etc. all the while keeping a strong emphasis on safety and sanitation.

knowledge in high volume batch cooking
Requires a current California Food Handlers card or ServSafe Certification, or able to get within 10 days of hire.
Must have High School equivalent education
Able to read and write in English
Bilingual in English and Spanish is +.
Physical demands and work environment:
Physical demands: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and safely move oven carts (bun pan racks) which weigh upwards for 250 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job require close and distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to cold temperatures in the walk-in refrigerators and cold room.: hot temperatures at skillets and ovens. The noise level is usually moderate.
