Textile Color Specialist

About Us:

CHAMPRO is a fast-paced athletic company looking for a full-time Textile Color Specialist, working in our Quality Control department, to coordinate and perform inspection of all textiles for existing and new product lines, as well as communicate results and expectations to textile suppliers in order to meet our company’s color goals.

Position:

We are a fast-paced athletic company in the team sports industry searching for a Textile Color Specialist to uphold our brand’s high color standards and take them to the next level. The focus is primarily on textiles used in apparel, though we look for opportunities to extend our color standards to equipment and accessories. The person in this role inspects all textiles for existing and new product lines and communicates results and expectations to textile suppliers in order to meet our company's color goals of matching and consistency.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product management team to define projects that involve color and textile evaluation
  • Evaluate textile lab dips and dye lots for color and physical properties, record data, and communicate technical results promptly and precisely
  • Develop SOPs based on best practices for our context, and share with textile partners to foster understanding of expectations
  • Archive samples and organize color lab space and resources in a sustainable and easy-to reference manner
  • Perform testing and maintain equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Provide support on quality-related matters; work with warehouse, quality, and customer service teams to resolve issues related to color and fabrics
  • Expand role of color lab into evaluation of other textile qualities
  • Look for opportunities to elevate our color goals across the product line
  • Use technical knowledge of color and textiles to serve as a reference for our product team

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of technical color theory and management
  • Experience with color evaluation, particularly of textiles
  • Score Superior or higher on Farnswell-Mensell 100 Hue Test
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, and Google suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize and communicate data
  • Work collaboratively in teams to produce quality work and resolve issues
  • Flexible and responsive to change
  • Critical thinker and problem solver
  • Detail-oriented, able to organize and prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
