Experience and skills

  • Bar membership in Texas. Active member and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • 2 or more years in practice in criminal law in Texas
  • Tech savvy with strong research and analytical skills plus proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Winning personality with a strong work ethic. Commit to working some weekends and after hours, as needed
  • Strong time management skills with the proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Have the ability to think through big picture strategy in criminal cases to manage it from start to finish, and pivot when needed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Document everything that takes place on a case
  • Establish a relationship and rapport with a client, and maintain that relationship and rapport throughout the case
  • Provide supervision and direction to the legal assistant orcase manager on the team
  • Review or draft legal documents on behalf of clients
  • Pay attention to accounts receivables for assigned case load
  • Comply with all legal standard and regulations
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
  • Travel between Central Texas courts
  • Demonstrate commitment to the defense of the accused
