Junior Accountant

The Chairish finance team is looking to hire a staff accountant. This position will play a key role in the growth of our company by managing Chairish’s day-to-day accounting functions. Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes, controls and systems is required, as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, obsessive about details, and wants to learn and grow with the company.


  • Drive the monthly close process and ensure financials are in accordance with GAAP

  • Prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules

  • Run payroll, 401k, tax filings, etc

  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and refinement of internal systems and processes

  • Maintain general ledger system for growth and scale

  • Partner with different departments on accruals and other close areas

  • Manage accounts payable including vendor setup and invoice entry

  • Prepare quarterly and year-end tax filings including 1099s, corporate returns, etc

  • Research technical accounting guidance and issues and perform analysis as needed

  • Assist with and participate in FP&A processes, ad hoc special projects, and other business analytics

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors in Finance/Accounting

  • 2+ years of accounting experience (CPA a plus)

  • Very strong knowledge of QuickBooks and

  • Excellent Excel skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment

  • Self-motivated and self-managed - able to think independently, creatively, and opportunistically
