This role is remote eligible. Chairish Inc. is looking for a Buyer to join our growing ecommerce retail team. Because the retail/wholesale part of our brand is still in its infancy, this position offers the unique opportunity to develop and shape a new business. It also allows you to apply your traditional retail buying experience to our broader marketplace business model.
In this role you will provide key leadership to category assortment planning, new vendor partnerships, and overall business optimization. You will identify key styles to offer and determine optimal pricing and markdown strategies. Because curation is a key tenant of our brand, you will have a point of view on assortment editing that is rooted in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. You will also ensure that your business tracks to our overall strategic and operating plans.
This role is highly collaborative and will work in tandem with our Merchandising, Sales, Marketing, Development, and Analytics teams in order to maximize all of our opportunities for growth.
Analyze KPIs/sales trends for recommendations on category, assortment and pricing strategies
Identify key product needs and wholesale partners
Communicate weekly/monthly/quarterly sales updates and identify actionable opportunities to further grow the business
Spearhead merchandising assortment plans for relevant categories
Lead the seasonal promotional strategy for your categories
Provide initial assortment recommendations to new wholesale partners; liaise with our Onboarding and Production teams to ensure that ingested product is presented as effectively as possible
Proactively cultivate wholesale partnerships and work to anticipate issues before they arise
5+ years Buying/Merchandising experience within an e-commerce/digital environment
Demonstrated passion and knowledge of the home category
A proven track record of partnership and collaboration with key stakeholders
Excellent vendor management skills
