Senior Software Engineer

Development | Spain (Remote) | Full Time

Job Description

Job Purpose:

The role of this job is to design, build and maintain high-quality technology solutions that deliver an exceptional customer experience. The role requires passion, knowledge, and experience working with HTML and CSS, JavaScript as well as knowledge of modern frameworks and technologies and able to work with legacy technologies as well. Knowledge of development for cross browsers and devices. The ability to work with the team and collaborate with the stakeholders and pay attention to detail is a must.

Job Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Create new features or parts of internal/user-facing applications, with the end user in mind, providing for the best customer experience.
  • Assist in building component-based architectures for supporting applications including developing components and libraries that are reusable and future-proof
  • Knowledge in using UI/UX designs or wireframes to create the respective code and the application for multiple browsers
  • Knowledge and understanding of Javascript frameworks like React, Angular, Vue.js, Ember.js etc. is a bonus
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Work with a team of developers in determining and executing best practices through peer review, pull requests, and regular collaboration
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Problem Solving skills with the ability to analyze and review code
  • Working with teams and communication skills
  • Aligning to structured process and operational guidelines
  • Learn new concepts, techniques and technology from more senior team members

Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge and experience in web technologies, languages, protocols, tactics, and tools
  • HTML, JavaScript, and CSS required, including responsive design experience
  • Knowledge CSS preprocessors like Sass and LESS
  • JavaScript skills with knowledge of or actively learning ECMAScript 5 and upwa
  • Experience or working knowledge of Figma is a plus
  • Understanding of cross browser/device testing

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of IT or computer science education.
  • Strong experience authoring, maintaining, and developing in a web environment.
  • Familiar with Agile (Scrum) Software Development Process and methodologies

Expected Competencies:

  • Detailed oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to pay attention to programming style and develop clean code
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A motivation to stay current in new web trends and technologies

Work Timings:

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are according to terms and conditions and subject to changes by Manager’s communication and may have to accommodate customer schedules in different international time zones.
