FinOps Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced FinOps Engineer to perform financial operations of our Cloud/SaaS platform. As a FinOps Engineer, you will be responsible for cloud spend monitoring, cost optimization, cost visibility, reserved instances, and savings plans. You will report to the VP of Infrastructure & Cloud Operations and work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, information technology, customer success, and security to drive cost innovation and efficiency in our SaaS operations.

You will have responsibility for performing cost optimization and spend analysis. This role requires a technical background in SaaS/Cloud computing and a proven track record of performing FinOps for a SaaS platform.

Responsibilities:

- Investigate, on a daily basis, cost optimization for various cloud spends

- Manage and renew Reserved Instances, Savings plans and coordinate with stakeholders on execution of savings constructs

- Find underutilized resources and make recommendations on proper sizing

- Provide weekly cost trend reports

Requirements:

- At least 2 years' experience as a FinOps Engineer

- Experience with AWS Reserved Instances and Savings Plans

- Experience with Azure Reserved Instances and Savings Plans

- Experience in Automation using Shell, PowerShell or Python

- Hands-on in creating dashboards in a reporting tool. Preferably PowerBI.

- Deep understanding of monitoring solutions for Azure and AWS including setting up new and maintaining current solutions.

- Strong understanding of cost usage details.

- Participate in DevOps activities including setting up CI/CD pipelines and have a strong working knowledge on different types of cloud resources.

Nice to have:

- High level understanding of Compute and Database resources being used in AWS & Azure

Work Timings:

Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM IST with some overlap between India and USA teams to ensure adequate collaboration. This role will be working in Hybrid Mode and will require at least 1-2 days’ work from office at Hyderabad.
