JOB SUMMARY:

The Coordinator of the Accelerated Post-Baccalaureate Associate Degree Nursing program is responsible for teaching and providing academic assistance by coordinating opportunities and collaborating with the nursing faculty and staff to facilitate student success for all students enrolled in the program. The coordinator will be responsible for oversight and monitoring of the grant to meet or exceed the grant's target goals and outcomes. The individual must possess a commitment to student success, and strong interpersonal skills, advising, and data management skills. The individual must also possess the ability to work as a member of a team and exercise exceptional organizational skills, independent judgment, initiative, and confidentiality.

This position is considered as 12-month faculty position.

This is an onsite position located in North East, MD.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and assist the Dean in hiring faculty, and faculty evaluations.
  • Develop and teach appropriate learning activities that reflect the program and/or course philosophy, objectives, and curriculum.
  • Uses various learning assessments to evaluate student mastery of the course and program outcomes.
  • Evaluating student performance both formative and summative.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of all student-learner success relation reports.
  • Complete all annual reports and required data reporting sets as required by the NSPII grant.
  • Competent use of teaching technology to enhance the learning environment.
  • Active participation in level meetings.
  • Active participation in faculty meetings.
  • Active participation in the accreditation process as necessary.
  • Maintains professional development/growth according to personal needs and requirements for licensure.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • Licensure - Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or Multistate
  • Education- Minimum of master's degree in Nursing, doctorate preferred
  • Minimum of five years of teaching nursing experience in a college/university setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and academic advising skills.
  • Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., LMS platforms, database research, and AI ethics) or proven ability to learn these skills.
  • Ability to work with students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

Schedule varies based on course requirements and College and students’ needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical Demands: This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving.

12 month faculty salary is dependent on placement according to the Full-time Faculty Rank and Promotion policy. The starting salary for each level is: Assistant Professor I $64,546 Assistant Professor II $67,774 Associate Professor I $71,232; Associate Professor II $77,707; Professor I $79,925 Professor II $86,073.
