Position Overview

Casaplex is looking for a Commercial and Business Development Specialist who will help streamline and grow Casaplex’s commercial business offerings. Our offerings include but are not limited to conferencing solutions, audio video presentation/broadcast systems, high-end security systems as well as other commercial automation solutions.

The individual will work closely with the sales and design team in order to create proposals and bid documents that will be used by the sales team to close new business. They will learn how to use Casaplex’s ERP software in order to create proposals while ensuring projected profitability. The sales engineer will also help create and compile project closeout documentation and other deliverables.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble commercial system quotes  

  • Analyse commercial bid opportunities and generate RFP responses

  • Work with AV design team in order to verify proposed design accuracy

  • Assemble project closeout/training documentation

  • Accompany commercial sales team on sales calls and site visits

  • Work with other departments on behalf of the commercial team to streamline portfolio of products and services

  • Create technical and sales content for promotional materials such as brochures and company website

  • Work with service team to create processes and procedures to help facilitate smooth commercial service engagements

  • Architect smart system solutions per scope of work in order to determine rough order of magnitude estimate for proposed systems.

  • Utilize and create standard pricing structures and pricing tools in order to help expedite future proposal cost estimation.

  • Refine and create basic scope of work information including supporting floor plan sketches and system diagrams

  • Create and leverage strategic relationships in order to identify potential clients

  • Qualify opportunities through evaluation of client expectations

 

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Familiarity with smart home and smart office technology required

  • Experience working with or designing the following systems: networks, audio/video distribution, smart home/office control, video conferencing and security systems including intrusion detection, access control and CCTV systems required

  • Strong knowledge of A/V signal flow required

  • Familiarity with Crestron, Lutron, Biamp and Cisco products required

  • At least 4 years technical sales experience required

  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills required

  • Written and spoken English language skills required

  • Effective proposal writing, preparation and presentation skills

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Understanding of ERP Systems

  • Ability to read blueprints and system design drawings

  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required


 

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • College Degree preferred

  • Current CTS Certification through Infocomm preferred

 

Required Technical Knowledge

  • Proficient word processing competence required

  • Windows/Mac Competence

  • Manipulation of spreadsheets and template documents

  • Solid competence in web based email and other online tools
