Sr. Customer Service Specialist

Job Summary
The principal function of the Senior Customer Service Specialist is to provide general clerical, office and program duties to support the University of Idaho Extension faculty. The duties are performed in a general office environment under the supervision of a County Extension Educator (County Chair).
Key Responsibilities
· Clerical:
o Answers phone, assists the public, greets clients, filing, operates standard office equipment, meeting room set up, manages calendars, and runs errands as needed.
o Manages and tracks funds and collects fees.
· Social Media:
o Creates ads, brochures, pamphlets, newsletters and manages webpage and social media for Extension Programs.
· Other Duties:
o Collaborates with the other Customer Service Specialists and Office Coordinator to provide support for programs.
o Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with county policies, procedures, and safety practices.
o All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills and Abilities
· Operation of standard and specialized office equipment.
· English grammar, spelling, composition, and punctuation.
· Use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions.
· Follow oral and written instructions.
· Maintain important records efficiently and accurately and to prepare clear and concise reports.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other county employees, supervisory personnel, state and local elected and appointed officials, and the public.
Special Qualifications
· Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
· Must successfully complete a background investigation.
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
· One to three years general office experience is preferred.
· Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Essential Physical Abilities
· Clear speech with or without an accommodation, to effectively convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly and/or quickly
· Sufficient clarity of hearing with or without reasonable accommodation to enable the employee to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
· Visual acuity, with or without an accommodation, to read instructions, review and organize documents
· Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks
· Ability to lift 25 lbs
