Responsibilities: Serve as a senior analyst for TIB’s Iran team within the J2. Writes complex studies with analytical assessments related to external state actors (ESA) focusing on the Diplomatic, Information, Military and Economic activities of the ESA’s in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility. Apply a wide range of intelligence analytic skills to monitor, assess, and report on indications and warnings regarding ESA’s activity and intentions. Utilizing both English and Spanish sources, perform all-source analysis at strategic, operational and tactical levels to provide assessments for external state actor’s activity within the DIME spectrum. In depth assessments account for alternative outcomes and the implications each scenario will have on U.S. in the region. Develop complex analytical approaches to problems and situations that can be utilized by other team members. Provide daily updates to senior SOUTHCOM officials on regional ESA’s DIME activity in order to aid in production planning. Daily reports require assessments in order to gauge significance and implications. Prepare presentations on regional security threats and briefs findings to senior government officials. Establish relationships and coordinate with analysts and officials in various government agencies and subject matter experts from the local academic community to thoroughly convey the impact of ESA’s in the region. Coordinates with various teams to develop in depth products as a co-author, requiring a dynamic and versatile analytical approach. Gather quarterly information regarding set ESA in order to create a product that informs the USSOUTHCOM commander and other IC members of the ESA’s activity in the region within a set time period. Expected to produce Daily Intelligence Notes (DIN), Intelligence assessments (IA) and Intelligence Estimates (IE) in a timely manner. Support to national-level and combatant command planning and operational missions of U.S. and partner nation customers. Expected to brief products produced and ready to engage in analytical discussions on a daily basis. Maintain significant reports within a team one note in order to further develop trends. Maintain awareness of global political activities that may impact set ESA’s activity in the region. Assist other teams within TIB in production if needed and willingness to solely represent the Iran team.  Expected to answer all questions pertaining to set ESA country, thus requiring constant communication with other teams.

Core Tasks

  • Writes complex studies with analytical assessments related to external state actors (ESA) focusing on the Diplomatic, Information, Military and Economic activities of ESA’s in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility.

  • Applies a wide range of intelligence analytic skills to monitor, assess, and report on indications and warnings regarding ESA’s activity and intentions

  • Utilizing both English and Spanish sources, perform all-source analysis at strategic, operational and tactical levels to provide assessments for external state actor’s activity within the DIME spectrum. In depth assessments account for alternative outcomes and the implications each scenario will have on U.S. in the region.

  • Supports national-level and combatant command planning and operational missions of U.S. and partner nation customers.

  • Develops and recommends complex analytical approaches to problems and situations.

  • Prepares presentations on ESA’s in the region to senior government officials

  • Expected to produce Daily Intelligence Notes (DIN), Intelligence assessments (IA) and     Intelligence Estimates (IE) in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of all-source intelligence analysis experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience supporting military intelligence missions.

  • Experience in the production, research, authoring, and dissemination of operational and strategic level finished intelligence products that answer the USSOUTHCOM Commander’s Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs).

  • Experience collaborating and coordinating intelligence analysis findings with intelligence community and interagency partners to ensure efficient and effective sharing of information.
  • Experience in building and presenting analytic findings to applicable parties to include USSOUTHCOM senior leaders, interagency and intelligence community partners.
  • Experience providing analytical services to include researching, authoring, and disseminating intelligence products that adhere to the most current authorized version of the Office of the Direction of National Intelligence (ODNI) Intelligence Community Directive 203 (ICD-203) and DIA’s Analytic Quality Framework. Must be able to provide products which meet standards IAW USSOUTHCOM/SCJ2 Analytic Review Process outlined in USSOUTHCOM’s Analytic Production Process Policy ID-J-16-023.12.

  • Significant experience using Tripwire Analytic Capability (TAC), Analyst Notebook, Palantir, ArcGIS, WebTAS, CIDNE, and Google Earth is highly desirable.
