Message from the Hiring Manager:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries. Performs account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts. Prepares and maintains financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and standards. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Work is closely managed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform day to day accounting operations, such as customer receipts, collections, and reconciliations.
  • Manage Shopify sales.
  • Prepare monthly analysis schedules.
  • Backup AP, AR, and Payroll.
  • Sales Taxes Maintenace and final set up.
  • Record and reconcile sales tax activity.
  • Ensure filings are up to date.
  • Address state sales tax notices regularly.
  • AMEX Sales Budget tracking.
  • Credit card posting maintenance.
  • Admin/Rebate calculate and present for accruals.
  • Assist month end close.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting from accredited college or equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of corporate accounting with GL experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Must have ERP experience.
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot table).
  • Oracle Fusion and manufacturing accounting a plus!
  • Cost accounting experience is a big plus!
