Cadent powers the evolution of TV brand advertising. We provide marketers, agencies, operators, and media owners with data-driven solutions for buying and selling TV advertising. By connecting brands with opportunities across national inventory sources—cable, broadcast, and digital media—our technology improves efficiencies and boosts the results of linear, addressable, and cross-screen campaigns. 

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a  Business Analytics Engineering Intern to join our Media Services Software Engineering team responsible for our converged media practice to deliver business and data insights across broadcast, cable and OTT platforms, transforming on on-prem tech stack into a cloud enabled solution. This Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience virtually by working directly with our teams, not for them.

This Intern will also spend the Spring on an individual project customized to their specific skill set which they’ll present to our Tech Leadership team at the end of the program. Details of the projects and timeline will be laid out by supervisors at the beginning of the program.

  • You are fundamentally sound in core computer science concepts and writing code 

  • You use a methodical approach that involves asking questions, uncovering false assumptions, and evaluating various approaches to the problem at hand before deciding on the best path forward 

  • You are comfortable asking for insight or guidance on assigned tasks 

What you will do: 

  • Provide support and actionable insights to Cadent departments/teams/internal stakeholders through:

  • Data analysis and data mining 

  • Interactive dashboards 

  • Statistical methods/modeling 

  • Work with database/data management to design DB schemas and validate data

Your Skills:  

  • Technical capabilities include: 

  • Languages:  Python, SQL (stored procedures), and bonus if you know C# and Java 

  • Frameworks:  RESTful API Interfaces, ASP.NET Core, WCF, Microservices, Services Oriented Architecture, Various AWS API’s and Services 

  • Processes/Concepts:  N-Tier application implementation, common object-oriented practices, relational database design and maintenance, modern security practices (OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect) 

Your Experience/Requirements:

  • A rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at a college or university
  • Able to commit to a part-time (20 hours per week) work schedule between February 16th 2021 – April 27th, 2021
  • Demonstrated understanding of application development methods, including Agile (Scrum and Kanban), as well as the fundamentals of requirement specification, design, coding, and testing of business applications systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communicators
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn from a rapidly growing company
  • Confident to take initiative and collaborate with teammates
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
