BuySellAds helps connect great brands with hard-to-reach audiences. You’ve probably seen our ad solutions on a number of creative sites such as Dribbble, Bootstrap, CodePen, Coding Horror, and many more.
We also work on our own internal projects and that’s where you come in. We’re looking for our first SEO hire to build and maintain a comprehensive SEO program for all our Owned & Operated properties. Historically, we’ve worked with an SEO consulting agency to diagnose SEO improvements with our team slowly executing on them. Our ideal hire is someone who is comfortable operating as a generalist and lone wolf - we’ll be looking to you for best practices and help you implement your recommendations.
Over time, you’ll also be deployed to work on additional websites in the BuySellAds umbrella, such as BuySellAds.com and Digg.com.
Finally, we expect a small portion of this role will expand beyond traditional SEO responsibilities and dip into content marketing e.g. helping us identify opportunities for earned media on external sites and produce content for our properties when appropriate.
We are a fully distributed/remote team and stay connected through Slack. We largely work around an EST schedule but are flexible.
Here’s what you’ll do:
Owned & Operated properties
Identify key opportunities and create meaningful improvements in organic search via technical on-page audits and internal links, backlink profile analysis, tagging, naming, and URL slugs to name a few
Advise on technical construction and keyword strategy
Reporting + analysis for all properties SEO, think: setting up reporting infrastructure and core metrics, monitor for trends, patterns, themes, search terms, etc. to inform ongoing site strategy
Content Marketing, think: identify + pitch properties for external listicle opportunities, leverage analytics/reporting findings for in-house listicles + produce them
Audit all Digg SEO, deliver findings + assist Digg team in execution
Train Digg on SEO reporting/infrastructure best practices
Help Digg team brainstorm additional, creative opportunities
Sound like you?
4+ years experience working in SEO and/or leading SEO strategy for numerous websites
Experience with tools such as Ahrefs or SEMrush and has the ability to pull key data.
Proven track record of improving SERPs to get sites closer to the first page of search results.
Experience developing sitemap structure, meta tags, image ALT text, robots.txt and other code related knowledge for improving SEO.
Strong understanding of E-A-T, Core Web Vitals, page speed, and ability to provide solutions for improving these measurements.
Bonus: familiarity with image recognition services for generating keywords and descriptions (Imagga, Azure, etc.).
