INSIDER is looking for a full-time producer with a focus on beauty to join our video team.
The role includes finding and pitching ideas for INSIDER’s beauty videos, as well as researching, writing, and producing scripts. If you’d be excited to produce videos about a Victoria’s Secret model-loved facial, the best beauty sponge for your money, and a group of women dubbed the Long Nail Goddesses, then this could be the job for you.
Producers work closely with video editors, but they do not need to have video-editing experience. We’re looking for ambitious reporters who are passionate about beauty, can find and chase great stories, and can relay them to our audience in compelling ways. We seek self-starters and people who are enthusiastic about collaborating with other team members.
In addition to these qualities, the ideal candidate will have:
A few years of experience covering beauty for a digital publication
A vast knowledge of and global perspective on current trends and issues in beauty, with an avid reading habit for such topics
An understanding of and interest in developing successful videos into repeatable and compelling series for a YouTube audience
An understanding of major social media platforms and how to optimize storytelling for each
Writing, proofreading, and copy-editing skills
Experience appearing on camera, directing video shoots, or editing videos is a plus
