Editorial administrative assistant - freelance team

Job Description

Insider Inc. is hiring an editorial administrative assistant to work with our team of in-house editors for freelance and our network of freelance writers. 

As the editorial admin assistant, you will be in a crucial position working across both the Business Insider and INSIDER newsrooms to ensure our freelance program runs smoothly. You'll work alongside our editors to make sure new freelancers are onboarded properly, current freelance writers are paid, and also track assignments that are out.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

-Loves to be organized and has a high degree of integrity when it comes to organization.

-Is skilled at managing Excel spreadsheets and keeping them updated.

-Has familiarity with payment processes and can work with our finance department to sort through W-9s and invoices.

-Always pays close attention to detail.

-Is comfortable building and scaling a relatively new program, and thinks proactively about ideas and processes to make the program better.

Other responsibilities in this role will include:

-Pulling and sending monthly reports to senior editorial leadership.

-Scouting for new writers we can reach out to for the freelance program.
