Business Insider corporate innovation reporter (NY/SF)
Editorial | New York, NY | Full Time
Business Insider is looking for a corporate innovation reporter to cover cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and other big technological shifts by talking to the executives down in the trenches making it a reality.
This reporter will write a steady stream of smart interviews, profiles, and features, telling the story of these massive, industry-shaking trends from a human perspective. If you’re fascinated by the latest technology trends and love to interview people at the center of the action, this is the job for you.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Good relationship-building and interviewing skills. You need to get companies, from Fortune 500s to growing businesses, to open their doors and let you sit down with the C-level execs. And then you need to ask the smart questions that provoke thoughtful discussions rather than canned answers and jargon.
Good understanding of the latest trends in technologies such as AI, Cloud Computing and Blockchain, and of how businesses are using this technology to solve problems and improve their operations.
- Action-oriented, self-starter with good project management skills. This is not a role where stories come to you. You need to find compelling stories and the people at the heart of those stories, and fill your calendar with a steady list of ideas to pursue.
- Proven writing skills and ability to meet frequent short-term deadlines. You should be able to translate the complex subject matter into compelling, plain English stories that people want to read and share.
This is a full time position that can be based in San Francisco or New York. Business Insider offers competitive compensation and full benefits packages.
