Are you looking to explore the growing world of sponsored content? Do you have that rare combination of journalistic talent, curiosity, and client services intuition? Business Insider is hiring an Associate Editor to join BI Studios, our in-house branded content team. This position works closely with the team’s Managing Editor on content campaigns that include blog posts, slideshows, infographics, and videos.

The ideal candidate has an editorial background with two to three years of experience as an writer and/or editor and is skilled both in-line editing and restructuring. In addition to strong organizational skills, we’re looking for someone who performs well under pressure and can work well with clients, vendors, and internal teams.


  • Help manage the development of sponsored content for various content marketing campaigns

  • Assist in management freelancers, including contracts and invoices, and bring on new writers across different areas of expertise (tech, science, consumer, financial, etc.)

  • Edit and format content with Business Insider’s CMS

  • Write articles as needed

  • Conduct photo research

  • Counsel advertising clients and sales reps on content strategy and the content development process 

  • Work with sales team to develop content programs for clients 

  • Manage BI Studios social handles (FB, Twitter, LinkedIn), liaising with BI’s editorial social media team to coordinate promotion of client content


  • 2–3 years experience in digital journalism and/or content development for a media company, marketing/ PR agency, or in-house marketing department

  • Client service experience, either internal or external

  • Experience creating and editing copy for projects ranging from blog posts to slideshows to infographics

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong verbal and communication skills

  • History of securing and managing freelancers

  • Working knowledge of a CMS and basic HTML

  • Proven ability to work calmly under pressure and tight deadlines
