Position Summary

We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist – ASL Recruitment to lead the sourcing, recruitment, and onboarding of certified and qualified American Sign Language interpreters. This role will focus on building strong talent pipelines, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring Bromberg continues to deliver excellence in supporting Deaf and HOH communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Sourcing
    • Proactively source, screen, and interview ASL interpreters and related professionals.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with interpreter training programs, Deaf community organizations, and professional associations.
    • Utilize multiple platforms (job boards, social media, professional networks) to attract diverse candidates.
  • Candidate Management
    • Guide candidates through the recruitment process, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience.
    • Assess interpreter qualifications, certifications (e.g., RID, BEI, NIC), and skill levels to match client needs.
    • Maintain an up-to-date database of active and potential candidates.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Partner with internal teams to understand staffing needs and project requirements.
    • Coordinate with scheduling and operations staff to ensure timely placement of interpreters.
    • Provide insights on labor market trends in the ASL field.
  • Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure recruitment practices align with ADA, EEO, and industry best practices.
  • Track and report recruitment metrics to measure success and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably in language services or healthcare/education settings.
  • Familiarity with ASL interpreting field and interpreter certifications (RID, NIC, BEI, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Deaf culture.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build relationships with interpreters and Deaf community organizations.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
  • Passion for accessibility, inclusion, and the mission of bridging communication gaps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in American Sign Language or experience working closely with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
  • Previous experience recruiting specialized professionals.
