Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to those transitioning from or at risk of homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. Additionally, we implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veteran services, and health care sectors.

Program Summary

Building on success in Los Angeles County as well as the Inland Empire, Brilliant Corners is collaborating with key government, philanthropic, and non-profit stakeholders to design and launch a San Francisco Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP) by October 2018. FHSP is a nationally-recognized model for rapidly scaling supportive housing interventions and, ultimately, ending the cycle of homelessness for thousands of households.

Position Summary
The Program Director will lead the launch and management of the San Francisco Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool (FHSP). The Program Director will collaborate with the Chief Program Officer, Director of FHSP Initiatives, and key funders, such as the San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing and Tipping Point Community Foundation, to scale the FHSP and meet the audacious goal of housing hundreds of homeless San Franciscans. The position is ideal for a person with proven leadership who is strategic, innovative, and committed to social justice.

The Program Director will manage the FHSP Tenancy Support Services and Housing Acquisition teams, which includes supervisors, administrative support roles, and housing acquisition specialists. The Program Director will inspire a culture of excellence throughout the team and constantly strive to optimize overall FHSP operations. The Program Director must be able to effectively engage with high-level government and partner stakeholders; this includes ensuring regular program performance and financial reporting.

Professional Experience

  • Master’s level education desirable but not required.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the public policy, social justice, human services, or environmental justice fields. Experience working in supportive housing a plus.  
  • Demonstrated leadership as evidenced by increasing levels of responsibility and management over the course of the candidate’s career.
  • At least 2 years building and managing a team.

Compensation:              $95,000 to $110,000
Status:                              Non-exempt, full-time

Travel required:            Occasional travel to Los Angeles to coordinate with LA FHSP
