Organization Overview
Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes, and implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services and health care sectors.

We have offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles, currently have 130 staff and are growing daily. We’re looking for inspired, talented people who want to be part of a team that’s affecting profound change and is having fun doing it.   

Position Summary

The accounting supervisor is an integral part of our growing Finance team. This position will have primary responsibility for overseeing full cycle accounts payable, account receivable and General Ledger. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, a problem-solver, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.


  • General Ledger / Assist with month-end close process

  • Preparation of journal entries and accounts payable accruals

  • Manage Wells Fargo and Home Depot credit card reconciliation

  • Process and review all accounts payable invoices coding

  • Support Accounts Receivable Specialist with billing, reporting, and collections

  • Review completed bank reconciliation

  • Create invoices for other programs

  • Work with Accounting Clerk to manage filing system

  • Cross train with payroll and A/P staff to support as needed

  • Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries on a timely basis

  • Review employee expense reports for proper classification and payment

  • Assist with fiscal year-end audit and statutory support

  • Review/prepare for year-end 1099 process with the support of accounts payable staff

  • Ad hoc assignments when needed

  • Other duties to be assigned

    Professional Experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • 7 to 10 years’ full cycle non-profit fund accounting experience

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP.

  • Thorough understanding of balance sheet accounts and reconciliations

  • Experience and proficiency with QuickBooks, Intacct, and Microsoft Office

  • Understanding of all aspects of a payment transaction from payment acceptance, reconciliation, dispute resolution, and payouts

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively with a team and suggest improvements to various processes

  • Detail oriented and able to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Ability to clearly articulate program goals and develop tools and metrics for staff to achieve those goals

Compensation:          $2,692.30-$2,846.15, bi-weekly
