Position Overview
Brave Christian Schools is seeking a Christ-centered, engaging, and academically strong Middle School Science Teacher to teach 6th–8th grade science courses. This part-time position plays a vital role in cultivating curiosity, critical thinking, and a strong foundation in scientific inquiry while integrating a biblical worldview.
As a private Christian school, Brave Christian partners with families to develop students academically, spiritually, and socially. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong instructional practices, effective classroom leadership, and a passion for inspiring middle school learners.
Primary Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Teach middle school science courses (Life Science, Earth Science, and/or Physical Science depending on assignment).
Develop and implement engaging, hands-on lessons aligned with grade-level standards.
Foster scientific inquiry, experimentation, and problem-solving skills.
Utilize labs and interactive learning experiences to deepen conceptual understanding.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
Prepare students for rigorous high school science coursework.
Classroom Leadership
Establish a structured, engaging, and safe laboratory/classroom environment.
Maintain consistent classroom management aligned with school expectations.
Communicate clear academic expectations and provide timely feedback.
Support development of organization and executive functioning skills.
Faith Integration
Integrate biblical worldview into scientific exploration and discussion.
Model Christ-centered character, integrity, and professionalism.
Encourage spiritual growth and positive peer relationships.
Participate in chapel, spiritual life activities, and school community events.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with department leads and administration.
Participate in faculty meetings and professional development.
Communicate proactively with parents regarding student progress.
Support school-wide initiatives and student events.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or related field.
Strong content knowledge in middle school science.
Effective classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with Brave Christian Schools’ mission and statement of faith.
Preferred
Teaching credential (California or equivalent).
Experience teaching middle school science.
Experience in a private or Christian school setting.
