Reports to: Elementary Principal

Position Summary
The Before and After School Program Director is responsible for overseeing a safe,
nurturing, and engaging environment for students during and outside of regular school
hours. This individual leads a team of staff members, manages the daily operations of
the program, and ensures alignment with the mission and values of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Student Experience
· Plan, implement, and oversee daily before- and after-school activities that are
developmentally appropriate and engaging.
· Rainy day back up plan
· Ensure all activities support student safety, creativity, learning, and social
development.
· Support student behavior management using positive discipline practices that
reflect the school’s values.
· Organize coverage for student recess and lunch duties.
· Attend weekly leadership meetings with the executive team.
· Hire after school programs to enrich our program.
Staff Supervision & Support
· Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate extended care staff.
· Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate supervision ratios.
· Provide ongoing support and professional development to staff as needed.
Operations & Administration
· Maintain accurate student attendance records and emergency contact
information.
· Ensure compliance with licensing and health/safety regulations (if applicable).
· Manage program budget and supplies.
· In charge of billing procedures and family communication about discrepancies
· Manage the snack shack
· Communicate with school leadership regarding program needs, updates, and
incidents.
Family & School Communication
· Serve as the primary point of contact for parents regarding before and after
school care.
· Communicate regularly with families about schedules, events, and student
concerns.
· Collaborate with school faculty and administration to ensure alignment and
continuity between classroom and extended care environments.
Safety & Compliance
· Enforce health, safety, and security procedures consistently.
· Ensure all staff are trained in emergency procedures and first aid/CPR.
· Monitor arrival and dismissal procedures to ensure smooth transitions.
Qualifications
· Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in an educational or
childcare setting.
· Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
· CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain).
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Passion for working with children and fostering a Christ-centered, nurturing
