Senior UI/UX Product Designer (Freelance, Remote)

LOCATION: Remote (Must be located in CST, EST, or Euro time zones)

HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $65 - 100 USD / HR

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Product Designer, you will support our Admin, Integrations and Reporting squads and will be responsible for leading the design efforts across these 3 key squads to ensure 15Five’s solution remains best in class. You will collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering partners to define the strategic direction for your product area. You’ll operate autonomously with your squad, leading the team vision and helping to shape its roadmap and goals. This role requires confidence in and passion for developing only the highest-quality solutions for complex enterprise problems. You care about having a meaningful impact on the business overall and take pride in using Best-Self Management as a guide for your continued development.

Product Design Responsibilities

  • Understand squad vision and objectives with support from Design, Product, and Engineering
  • Consider how your designs can support that vision, broader product, and company objectives
  • Speak confidently in relating that support to the broader team
  • Define customer issues with squad quadfecta (product manager, engineering lead, agile coach)
  • Create user flows, prototypes, and designs to solve these problems
  • Use the Design System and frameworks to produce new designs and update existing ones
  • Identify cases where existing patterns break down in your work as well as others’ on the platform
  • Seek guidance from your manager and senior designers as necessary with complex problems
  • Identify collaboration opportunities with other designers, squads, and teams with your manager
  • Give direct, meaningful feedback to your teammates and others and help them apply it effectively
  • Understand the role of and key concepts associated with positive product design at 15Five
  • Ensure design quality and cohesion across your product area
  • Produce designs that are visually cohesive with other products and anticipate their future
  • Flag quality concerns to the appropriate designers and design managers
  • Independently define the goals of research projects and confidently run research sessions
  • Analyze data, define insights to drive decision-making, and convey learnings to the broader team
  • Regularly evaluate design processes and tools and make recommendations for improvements

  • Serve as an active contributor to your team’s culture
  • Identify, advocate for, and execute design-driven projects and initiatives within your area
  • Present your vision of the user experience in a compelling way that excites others to achieve it
  • Help identify areas of improvement for the team and process that design leadership can address
  • Help organize opportunities to spread design thinking and enthusiasm throughout 15Five

Required Experience / Skills / Attributes

  • 5 years of product design experience
  • B2B experience designing complex UX, information architecture, and customer journeys
  • Mastery of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
  • Proficiency with facilitating and synthesizing user research and data
  • Experience gaining input and generating ideas through various techniques (e.g., brainstorming sessions, whiteboarding, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in 1-on-1 or group situations
  • Ability to clearly convey ideas whether describing complex projects or delivering design critiques
  • Good at proactively ask for feedback by sharing work early and often
  • Data visualization experience
