JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position - No agencies (See notes below)

LOCATION: Remote (TimeZone: BST, CST, EST)

HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $90 - $100 USD / HR

ESTIMATED DURATION: 40Hrs/Week - Long Term, 6-month project


Must overlap Central time zone working hours

6 months contract, then convert to a full-time employee

Our Client is the foremost provider of real estate solutions, offering the most comprehensive end-to-end portfolio of products, services, and training in the industry. There Engineering Team converts agent and consumer challenges into intuitive, insight-enhanced technology and consumer experiences using tools such as ReactJS, NodeJS, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.


Design, document, and deliver well-thought-out solutions as part of our microservice architecture while leading and motivating a small team of developers and QA engineers.

  • This role is up to 50% writing code, depending on the need of the team in a given sprint. The other 50% is working with the team and partners (product, design, architects).
  • There are 2 teams we are prioritizing for this role,
    • #1 is our Search Engine team, someone with a lot of backend and Search related experience will be ideal.
    • #2 is our Mobile App team, must be a React Native expert who built and deployed several apps under their belt.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On-time delivery of software solutions fully aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Design, document and deliver well-thought-out solutions as part of our microservice architecture in partnership with the Product Team.
  • Mentor, coach and delegate work to a team of developers and QA engineers.
  • Drive automation into test, documentation and the build process.
  • Work closely with cross-functional project teams to develop new or additional functionality.
  • Maintain velocity while minimizing defects.
  • Establish a test-driven culture furthering the automation of our CI/CD pipeline.
  • Able to handle changes in priority and requirements, without loss of enthusiasm.
  • Experience working with a geographically dispersed team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience leading a software development team in the delivery of complex and challenging software solutions.
  • 6 or more years of experience in software development.
  • 5 or more years of experience in technical architecture, solution/application architecture, application development, or middleware design.
  • Proficient knowledge of ReactJS and NodeJS.
  • Experience with test automation tools like JEST, Jasmine, Cucumber.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable and highly available cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
  • Experience with multiple database technologies such as MySql, MongoDB, Postgres.
  • Experience with searching and caching tools and technology such as Elasticsearch, Solr, Ignite, or Redis.
  • Experience designing for large-scale, highly available, fault-tolerant transactional and analytical systems in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience in building microservice using REST and GraphQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with building and growing online engagement applications, learning mgmt systems, or search engines.
  • 8 or more years of experience in software development.
  • 5 or more years of experience using one or more of the following: ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, Vue.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong familiarity with design patterns.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent Engineering field.
