Braintrust (usebraintrust.com) is a user-controlled talent network, where you keep 100% of what you earn and actually get to own the platform. We've been onboarding some big clients and specifically need a Lead iOS Developer for our client.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
There are over 24 million golfers in the United States, and about 16 million of them don’t belong to a private country club. We want to bring the competitive country club experience to the public golfer. We want to make it easy for people to connect and compete on the golf course. This project is for someone who wants to establish a voice, build a brand, and build a community. The development of this MVP is the first step towards this effort.
Our goal is to minimize wasted work across teams as much as possible! We would expect our design and development partners to be focused on broad page construction, writing code and building sophisticated algorithms, and for the company's team to handle the writing and entry of specific data for screens. It is important to us that we continue work within Figma since that is what our team is comfortable designing in.
Part of the working agreement should include daily communication via email / text / etc. and two weekly status updates. Specific times can be confirmed ad-hoc. As part of these communications, we would ask for updates on hours worked on a frequent basis that allows us to be flexible in how much detail and depth is applied to each screen. We are a lean, bootstrapped startup and managing costs is an important priority. We would also ask that the development team ask for feedback on the process and next steps where they see fit, in the spirit of this priority.
We would like to do a small friends and family “Alpha” release halfway through the build, and a “Beta” release at the end of the build. The company will own the family and friend release of the Alpha. As well as owning the surveying and product testing, and communicate the feedback to the development team.
The company’s MVP will be built for three types of stakeholders: 1) investors, 2) core users, and 3) prospective employees. It needs to be built with high fidelity for pilot users. It needs to have the ability to plug into APIs, as well as test and track user behavior.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
First 3 Deliverables Expected
- Design Audit of Existing Wireframes
- Design of Additional Pages
- Infrastructure Setup & Tech Stack
- Strong English
- US based (preferrable)
- A basic level of full stack development experience.
- Experience working with AWS, Google or Azure.
- The ability to coach the founders so the product is not left for interpretation at the end of the process.
- A positive attitude with the ability to adapt and pivot
- A person who can run a meeting and get the most out of our time together
- We also would like to work with someone who has a system for tracking hours worked and hitting milestones
- Experience in Figma
- AWS or Google
- Golf Industry knowledge is incredibly helpful
ABOUT THE HIRING PROCESS:
Qualified candidates will be invited to do a screening interview with the Braintrust staff. We will answer your questions about the project, and our platform. If we determine it is the right fit for both parties, we'll invite you to join the platform and create a profile to apply directly for this project.
C2C Candidates: This role is not available to C2C candidates working with an agency. If you are a professional contractor who has created an LLC/corp around their consulting practice, this is well aligned with Braintrust and we’d welcome your application.
