UX/UI Designer - Contract

Job Description

Position Summary 

We're seeking a contract UX/UI Designer to help us evolve our suite of eLearning products. You'll apply your knowledge of user-centered design to create highly intuitive layout concepts and interface components. You'll iterate and refine these designs based on feedback from product owners, developers and other stakeholders. You'll implement design frameworks and own the internal documentation that drives our UI guidelines and best practices. You'll also contribute to our customer-facing documentation and support materials. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Create design deliverables, including all types of user experience assets, to support the development of prototypes and/or production applications. 

  • Refine layouts and UI components such as iconography, graphical elements and navigation tools 

  • Apply branding to new and existing customer UI’s based on current platform build

  • Continuously communicate between multiple stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of design objectives. 

  • Participate in cross-departmental activities, including customer meetings, team meetings, and design reviews

  • Craft & maintain design guidelines & documentation for use by development and other designers. 

Requirements: 

  • College degree or equivalent professional experience with a portfolio that demonstrates advanced visual design skills 

  • Solid foundation in UX design principles and best practices, and a passion for creating meaningful interactive experiences 

  • Deep expertise in design and prototyping tools (Creative Suite, Axure, HTML/CSS) 

  • Understanding of popular design frameworks, especially Material and Bootstrap 

  • Experience creating and evolving design systems and processes 

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision 

  • Collaborative, "can-do" spirit and proactive work ethic 

Bonus: 

  • Prior experience working with Agile / Scrum or similar project methodologies 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
