Role Overview
The Financial Planning Specialist serves on the Leadership level as the central point of contact between the firm’s Financial Advisors and the Home Office. This role ensures all requests are properly routed, promotes consistency and clear communication, oversees tracking, processing, and assignment of all financial planning requests, and may be included in client meetings.
Financial Planning Strategy
Deliver a diversified set of investment and risk management solutions with a financial planning mindset to meet the individualized needs of current and potential clients.
Partner with existing advisors and their clients as a subject matter expert on financial planning.
Manage workflow between Financial Advisors, Coordinators, and the Home Office to ensure timely and efficient handling of tasks.
Adhere to the firm’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
Use sales tools and modules to conduct analysis and recommend best-fit solutions.
Build a referral channel by developing strong partnerships with advisors to meet client needs.
Process and monitor all financial plan requests.
Prepare correspondence and track the team’s progress through defined metrics.
Provide marketing presentations, deliver training, and disseminate information to advisors.
Promote the firm’s financial planning value proposition.
Other projects as needed.
Financial Planning Tools
Financial planning software including e-Money and Money Guide Pro, etc.
Productivity and analysis tools including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Firm sales tools and modules used for needs analysis, solution design, tracking, and reporting.
Financial Planning Career Ladder
Opportunities for growth include roles/titles such as Senior Financial Planning Specialist or Financial Planning Manager, with increased responsibilities in training, process oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.
High-performing individuals may be considered for succession into the Director of Financial Planning role. This position includes leading and growing a team of Financial Planners, managing hiring and onboarding, providing coaching, setting standards and KPIs, and focusing heavily on the implementation of financial plan recommendations.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
· MUST have a Series 7 & 66. Life & Health license a plus. CFP designation preferred.
· MUST have a minimum of 1 -3 years developing financial planning strategies.
· Proficient in financial planning software (e.g., E-money, Money Guide Pro).
· Strong interpersonal skills interacting with clients, colleagues, and key external partners.
· Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication with a result-driven attitude.
· Proficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000 yearly depending on experience plus commission/bonus based on performance.
Schedule: Full-time, in-office position with standard hours of 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for client meetings as needed.
