About the role...

Bleacher Report is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated Senior Software Engineer (C#) to join our structured data & sports analytics squad. As a Senior Engineer you will play a significant role in developing some of our most engaging in-app features including scores, gamecasts, play-by-play, and rich media notifications.

What you'll be doing...

  • Build and launch new features and data services for Bleacher Report’s sports analytics platform

  • Work closely with our product team to develop requirements and deliver solutions

  • Ship software for a high-volume consumer-facing platform with a focus on code that well-designed, maintainable, unit tested, code reviewed, and monitored

  • Mentor junior team members

  • W closely with a top-notch engineering team, continuously improving our development and deployment processes

Experience you need...

  • 7+ years experience with C# or JAVA

  • 7+ years experience with database design and SQL optimization (PostreSQL)

  • Honesty, friendly attitude, and good sense of humor

  • A disciplined approach to software development, Test Driven Development, and Agile methodologies

  • Experience with microservices, SOA concepts, and distributed systems

  • Experience with message brokers, caching strategies, and CI/CD

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across engineering teams

  • Comfortable with fast-paced, iterative, agile design cycles

  • B.S. in Computer Science/related fields or equivalent experience.

**Note “sports fanship” was not listed as a requirement. We love all of our engineers, sports fans or not.  Those who thrive on technical problem solving will feel just as at home as those that thrive on game 7 showdowns.

Bonus points for...

  • Familiarity with RESTful service development, Redis, RabbitMQ, and AWS

  • Knowledge of NET Core and its relationship to the classic .NET Framework

  • Experience with general front-end development (HTML, CSS, MVC, etc.) and front-end frameworks (React, AngularJS)

  • Experience working on a high-traffic website or platform

  • Contributions to the open-source community.
