Bleacher Report is seeking a highly-motivated Senior DBA to join our team. We are the social voice of sports – creating and collaborating on the culture of sports for the next generation of fans. What you will be doing...

  • Database design, data modeling and database architecture of a large complex cloud system.

  • Develop cloud database strategies and roadmaps to deliver strategic business capabilities.

  • Participate in application and API design, test, and implementation phases.

  • Database sizing and space management 

  • Engage with development teams on identifying and analyzing badly performing queries

  •  Develop database best practices and guidelines and review development teams’ data and database related issues.

  • Perform research into database performance issues and come up with solutions to address those concerns.

  • Must have strong scripting skills with at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Shell, etc.)

  • Monitor the health of the systems as it relates to database usage and performance.

  • Working AWS knowledge

Experience you’ll need...

  • Must have 5 years of Postgres and MySQL server DBA experience including writing and optimizing complex queries.

  • Experience in building and maintaining highly scalable, extremely low latency and distributed systems.

  • Experienced and knowledgeable of high availability and disaster recovery solutions

  • Experience in fine tuning and optimizing indexes for performance improvement.

  • Experience with DataWarehouse environments.

  • Excellent analytical, Interpersonal and Communication skills, fast learner, and a true team player

  • Familiar with security compliances
