Senior Back-End Engineer (C#/JAVA)

Job Description

Bleacher Report is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated backend engineer to join our structured data & sports analytics squad. As a Senior Engineer you will play a significant role in developing some of our most engaging in-app features including scores, gamecasts, play-by-play, and rich media notifications.

  • You will build and launch new features and data services for Bleacher Report’s sports analytics platform

Experience you need...

  • 7+ years experience with C# or JAVA

  • 7+ years experience with database design and SQL optimization (PostreSQL)

  • Honesty, friendly attitude, and good sense of humor

  • A disciplined approach to software development, Test Driven Development, and Agile methodologies

  • Experience with microservices, SOA concepts, and distributed systems

  • Experience with message brokers, caching strategies, and CI/CD

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across engineering teams

  • Comfortable with fast-paced, iterative, agile design cycles

  • B.S. or higher in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

Bonus points for...

  • Familiarity with RESTful service development, Redis, RabbitMQ, and AWS

  • Knowledge of NET Core and its relationship to the classic .NET Framework

  • Experience with general front-end development (HTML, CSS, MVC, etc.) and front-end frameworks (React, AngularJS)

  • Experience working on a high-traffic website or platform

  • Contributions to the open-source community
