About the role:

Bleacher Report is looking for a Free-To-Play Game Programmer  to help with the daily operation of our new betting game “Perfect Picks”.  This is an opportunity to impact a burgeoning area of both B/R and the sports industry. The Free-To-Play Game Programmer will help with the creation of fun and engaging questions and push notifications with the end goal of generating repeat players of “Perfect Picks”. The ideal candidate will have a very strong grasp of major sports narratives, B/R’s voice and a basic grasp of sports betting concepts.


  • Write daily copy for questions around NBA and NFL games and possibly other sports in the future.

  • Create betting odds for daily questions

  • Write and send push notifications with the daily details of “Perfect Picks”.

  • Help coordinate planning and programming of “Perfect Picks” across multiple areas of the programming department.

  • Innovate new ways to create repeat users of the B/R App as it pertains to “Perfect Picks”.


  • 1+ year of sports media experience preferred

  • Sports fanatic with a strong understanding of all major sports both on and off the field/court. Expertise in sports betting is a major plus.

  • Experience writing push notification copy.

  • A keen awareness of Bleacher Report’s voice in communicating with our target audience.

  • Flexibility of schedule to work: We work when sports happen. 

  • Deep understanding of current and emerging social trends.

  • Ability to work independently, but take critical feedback and implement it into process

  • Possess strong writing and communication skills.  Editing skills/experience is a plus; formal editing background is not required but a keen eye for punctuation and grammar is crucial.
