About the role:

Bleacher Report has been a trusted source of sports information, entertainment, and culture for many years now. Our diverse content teams create experiences that reflect and celebrate the sports fan’s experience. Through E-Commerce, we are looking to recreate a similar spirit and energy – in the same way that B/R uses its innovative content and authentic distribution to “win” moments in sports, we plan to win and celebrate key moments in sports through merchandise. We are looking for an experienced E-Commerce professional to pave the way into this new extension of the brand.

Role Location:

This position may be located in either our San Francisco or New York office. 


  • 50% E-Commerce Strategy & Vision

    • Build and socialize holistic E-Commerce strategy.

    • Maintain business plan, manage against revenue and expense goals, adapt to changes in marketplace as necessary.

    • Be responsible for all online sales, activities, user experiences/workflows, etc.

    • Optimize E-Commerce initiative for traffic (SEO, social), sales (pricing strategy, SKU development), and expenses (logistics, vendors)

    • Oversee reporting to executive-level stakeholders of what’s working vs. not.

    • Lead merchandise planning efforts by setting and optimizing product line and product lifecycle decisions, as well as managing inventory.

  • 50% day-to-day management/execution of said strategy

    • Manage a cross-functional team of designers, marketers, user experience specialists, operations/logistics people, and 3rd party vendors.

    • Own the cross-departmental communication/collaboration to marry our content initiatives with our commerce initiatives.


  • 6-8+ years of related work experience in E-Commerce, digital marketing, product marketing, or related field.

  • Proven experience building and managing vendor relationships across the entire supply chain.

  • Ability to build, grow, and work effectively in teams.

  • Proven ability to communicate across multiple departments and secure buy-in with stakeholders across the organization.

  • Experience managing a team of 3-7 individuals.

  • Ability (and eagerness) to work in a fast-paced, news-driven media environment.

  • Understanding of merchandise design lifecycle with a demonstrated ability to effectively assign and critique work.

  • Experience leading and optimizing a mobile-first E-Commerce strategy.

  • Incredibly knowledgable of the social media E-Commerce landscape, including experience leveraging third-party selling channels, such as Instagram shopping, Google shopping ads, Facebook product feed, Apple Pay, etc.

  • College degree required.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience building E-Commerce or Fashion initiatives within larger/existing organizations.

  • Experience working in sports or sports media.

  • Experience with Photoshop, Google Analytics, or UX Design.

  • Understanding of apparel and fashion trends, including streetwear and sportswear.
