About the role:

The unprecedented growth of House of Highlights is expanding to even further heights: House of Highlights is looking to hire its first ever Manager of Content Programming! This manager will work directly with House of Highlights and Bleacher Report leadership in setting and executing a strategic programming plan for HoH . As gatekeeper of the HoH brand, the HoH Programming team will be responsible for driving deeper interaction, engagement, and connection with HoH’s increasing follower base on Instagram. Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Help set the tone, look and feel of House of Highlights’ Instagram account
  • Set and execute the strategic plan for an entire programming channel
  • Distribute and curate breaking news, internal/external content, social media posts and video highlights
  • News and social media monitoring
  • Swift editorial response and decision making
  • Source and identify relevant viral content
  • Timely and clean stylized caption writing 
  • Assist the HoH team in new story idea generation and advanced content planning
  • Approve high impact text, video and multi-media content offerings
  • Manage a team of 1 or more individuals
  • Meet and strategize with leaders from other business units
  • Serve as liaison support to sales
  • Finalize and approve staff schedules
  • Serve as integral role in hiring and onboarding of new hires
  • Serve as contact for Product and Engineering related issues
  • Provide mentorship/coaching to junior staff

About you:

  • Incredibly knowledgable about the social media landscape
  • Must have high proficiency with all social media platforms, especially Instagram and YouTube
  • Strong knowledge/understanding of all major sports ("generalist") with a particularly strong framework around basketball and the NBA
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Assist on strategy projects at a smaller team level
  • 3 - 5 years of professional sports media, social media or journalism experience
  • Proven working experience in related, liberal arts-specific field
  • Must be willing to work in a fast paced, 24-7 field in a laid back environment (those who do not want to work nights and weekends need not apply).
