About the Role:

The Community Strategist will be tasked with building foundational materials to support thriving two-way communities; connecting millions of passionate sports fans around the teams and topics they crave. The Community Strategist will set best practices for content and communications to operationalize, support and grow communities driven by remote moderators. In addition, the Community Strategist will partner with Content Programming and Product to influence roadmaps focused on driving fan engagement and connections. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop core communication strategies to foster and scale tight-knit communities.

  • Set moderation and community guidelines.

  • Support remote moderators with initial on-boarding policies & ongoing support of tools and community related needs.

  • Build close relationships between Bleacher Report and power users of app.

  • Work with analytics to monitor channel engagements and optimize for Community performance.

  • Plan and schedule Community activations, both during live events and out of event windows.

  • Conduct feedback initiatives on issues significantly impacting user experience. 

Requirements:

  • 4+ years working in community management or moderation.

  • Deep understanding of current and emerging social trends.

  • Ability to combine strategic thinking and execution.

  • Possess skills to make actionable recommendations based on direct user feedback.

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • Hyper-organized individual with 'self-start' mentality.

  • Sports fanatic with strong understanding of all major sports

  • Keen awareness of Bleacher Report's voice - know how B/R reacts on multiple platforms when breaking news hits.

  • College degree in applicable field preferred (Communications, Journalism, User Research, Marketing, etc.).

  • Candidate must be based in, or willing to relocate to San Francisco.
