As a division of WarnerMedia, B/R has gained all the advantages of a large media company while maintaining its vibrant startup culture. Our Engineering team is composed of cross-functional teams of Android, IOS, Backend, and Frontend Engineers, working closely with Operations and QA specialists. We work together to create, maintain, and operate features across the entire stack. Our Engineering organization is mostly remote, with headquarters in San Francisco. We use a combination of text and video chat to communicate within our teams and across the organization.
What you’ll be building...
Build and maintain back-end services for the Bleacher Report platform, primarily using Elixir
Work closely with product managers to understand requirements and come up with solutions
Coordinate with other backend engineers to introduce new services into the architecture
Approve code for deployment, ensure monitoring is in place, and participate in on-call rotation
Propose continuous improvements to the agile software delivery process
Advertise your work, within your team and with other backend engineers
Work closely with a world-class engineering team
5+ years of experience building Internet-facing backend web applications
Must have 1+ years of experience using Elixir
Proficiency with Git or willingness to learn (able to squash or rebase changes in a branch)
Ability to work on features both independently and in a small team
Strong ability to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Familiarity with agile software development practices
Experience working remotely (if applicable)
Contributions to open-source software or relevant technology communities
Previous experience working on a high-traffic website or platform (e.g. SQL-tuning, optimizations)
BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field
