About You:
· Current registered nurse licensure with the Ghana Nurses and Midwifery Council
· Minimum of four years post anesthesia care / critical care with Ghana Nurses and Midwifery Council preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
· Complete annual education requirements

Responsibilities
· Perform thorough assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, neurological status, and overall clinical presentation.
· Continuously monitor patients' responses to treatments, interventions, and changes in condition.
· Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians or as indicated by the patient's condition. This may include administering IV medications, managing ventilators, performing advanced airway management, and providing hemodynamic support.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for critically ill patients.
· Communicate effectively with team members to ensure coordinated and timely care delivery.
· Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate interventions to stabilize patients in critical condition.
· Utilize advanced life support techniques, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation, as necessary to support patient resuscitation efforts.
· Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care instructions. Provide emotional support and guidance to help patients and families cope with the challenges of critical illness and recovery.
· Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, interventions, medications administered, and patient responses.
· Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for documentation and reporting of critical care interventions.
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, improving patient safety, and optimizing care delivery processes within the critical care unit.
· Contribute to data collection, analysis, and performance improvement efforts.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing
· Current registered nurse licensure with the Ghana Nurses and Midwifery Council
· Minimum of two years varied and progressive post anesthesia – critical care nursing experience.
