Originally operating as SecretNewCo, the company was founded in March of 2013 by a group of industry veterans (Civilization II, Rise of Nations, FrontierVille). Big Huge Games is dedicated to "Finding The Fun" through rapid prototyping and a focus on a great user experience. We're a small, passionate team of experienced game development veterans, proudly located just north of Baltimore, MD.

Summary of Position

Big Huge Games is looking for a skilled Senior Producer with experience in agile development methodologies to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a track record of delivering high-quality products using sustainable development practices and a continuous improvement mindset.

Our headquarters are in Timonium, MD. While we prefer MD-based candidates, with mutual agreement, we can accommodate a remote work environment for candidates from the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, New York, Oregon, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support to cross-functional development teams made up of software engineers, artists, designers, QA, and product managers.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Producer and feature delivery teams to lock down requirements and specifications for current and upcoming releases.
  • Run daily and regular scrums as needed to ensure project teams are on track and meeting delivery deadlines.
  • Identify pipeline bottlenecks and development risks affecting release plans and provide active solutions.
  • Work with production, team members, and stakeholders to prioritize schedule planning, trade-offs, and ensure that information around issues and changes is appropriately communicated.
  • Provide regular status reporting and capacity plan updates, and mentor individual contributors within the production team.
  • Collaborate with QA, leads, development teams, and other relevant parties to ensure that releases are high quality, complete, and meet all assigned deadlines.
  • Help coordinate release and hotfix war rooms, track CS reporting, and monitor releases to identify and address any emergent issues quickly.
  • Schedule and run regular triage reviews with QA and leads to ensure priority bugs and issues are scheduled and assigned, reducing tech debt.
  • Identify inefficiencies and roadblocks in production pipelines and work with the team to develop solutions that will continuously improve processes.
  • Implement project tracking through JIRA and scope management processes.
  • Write internal documentation, as necessary.
  • Serves as an internal game critic and provides feedback to key stakeholders as occasions arise.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of production experience in free-to-play social and/or mobile games, with production experience in the live game release cycle highly desired.
  • Practical knowledge of production life cycle from concept to post-release live operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with broad cross-functional teams.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  • 3+ years managing game programs and projects using agile methodologies, with a working understanding of other project management methodologies.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree in any number of related fields, including (but not limited to) computer science, business planning, game production or equivalent experience.
  • ScrumMaster Certification.
  • Robust knowledge of world history.
  • Experience working with a remote team.
