PART-TIME BEAUTY EDUCATOR

Beauty Heroes is looking for a Part-Time Beauty Educator to join our flagship store team in downtown Novato.

We’re looking for someone who genuinely loves skincare, beauty and wellness, enjoys working with people, and is curious to learn more. Our Educators play an important role in the Beauty Heroes experience — helping customers discover exceptional products, understand what they’re using and why, and make thoughtful choices that work for them.

If you have experience in beauty, skincare, spa, makeup, wellness or luxury retail — and would love to spend a few days a week surrounded by great products, interesting people and a team that cares deeply about what we do — we’d love to meet you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Beauty Educators are at the heart of the store.

You'll spend your shifts getting to know our customers, helping someone figure out their skincare routine, finding the right makeup or moisturizer, and introducing people to brands and products they may never have discovered otherwise.

We don't believe in pushing products. We believe in listening, educating and helping people find what genuinely works for them.

You'll receive ongoing product and ingredient education and have opportunities to learn directly from Beauty Heroes, brand founders, educators and industry experts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Welcome customers and create the warm, thoughtful Beauty Heroes experience we're known for

• Provide personalized skincare, makeup, hair, body and wellness recommendations

• Help customers build simple, effective beauty routines based on their individual needs and goals

• Become deeply knowledgeable about our brands, products and Beauty Heroes Ingredient Standard

• Share the Beauty Heroes philosophy around healthy beauty, sustainability and Living Lighter

• Provide in-store and occasional virtual skincare consultations

• Learn about ingredients, formulations and products through ongoing education and brand trainings

• Build relationships with customers and help grow our local Beauty Heroes community

• Participate in our in-store events, brand activations and special experiences

• Support thoughtful customer follow-up and outreach

• Help keep our store beautiful, organized, stocked and ready for discovery

• Assist with opening, closing, transactions, returns and the everyday details that make a great store run beautifully

• Occasionally participate in social content and other creative projects

• Pitch in wherever needed — we're a small team, and we work together

YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF...

You're warm, curious and genuinely interested in people. You love beauty, but you're not interested in pushing more for the sake of more. You're the kind of person who notices the details and is excited to keep learning — about ingredients, skincare, formulation, sustainability and the stories behind great independent brands.

You also:

• Have experience in beauty, skincare, spa, makeup, wellness or luxury retail

• Love providing exceptional, personalized customer service

• Are comfortable recommending and applying makeup

• Are friendly, engaging and confident starting conversations

• Are thoughtful, reliable and highly detail-oriented

• Communicate beautifully and professionally

• Enjoy being part of a collaborative team

• Can take initiative and work independently when needed

• Are comfortable learning new systems and information

• Care about healthy beauty and sustainability

• Want to be part of a small, entrepreneurial company doing something different in beauty

You do not need to arrive knowing everything about our Ingredient Standard or every brand we carry. We'll teach you. Curiosity and a genuine desire to learn are important to us.

SCHEDULE

This is a part-time position averaging 2–3 shifts per week.

Saturday and/or Sunday availability is required.

Additional weekday availability is a plus, and flexibility around events and busy retail periods is appreciated. We are closed on Monday.

Applicants must live within a comfortable commuting distance of Novato, California.
