Studio Business Manager

BAYCAT is seeking an energetic and resourceful individual to manage the day-to-day administrative and

BAYCAT is a community media producer of San Francisco -- a dynamic emerging social enterprise that educates, empowers, and employs. We offer free classes in film/TV production, audio/music production, animation, and graphic/web design, primarily to the youth and young adults from historically underserved communities in the city. BAYCAT then hires our graduates through our enterprise arm, Studio BAYCAT, to produce professional marketing communication materials for clients that include businesses, government, local Bayview merchants and nonprofits. Reporting to the CEO, the Studio Business Manager will provide support to Studio BAYCAT. This position is
responsible for maintaining our multi-faceted Studio operations and to keep all business and administrative
aspects of Studio BAYCAT running smoothly.

Overall project management and operational duties include:

Client Relations and Customer Service
- Respond to client inquiries in a warm, responsive and professional manner
- Assist with keeping accurate and up-to-date records of BAYCAT's database
- Give tours of the space to prospective/current clients
- Coordinate and support the production and marketing of annual BAYCAT community events

Project/Operations Management
- Maintain a shared BAYCAT information system that includes contact lists, emails, production schedules and
department calendars
- Manage a master calendar of the CEO and Studio BAYCAT projects
- Coordinate materials for meetings with clients, and other activities of the organization
- Develop, maintain and effectively execute project plans throughout the life of assigned project(s) according
to established procedures, channels and success expectations
- Establish clear project parameters supporting the success of all internal and client team members
- Forecast, track and manage project budgets, POs and invoices

Department Management
- Provide administrative or production support to Producers and Executives as assigned
- Assist with the completion of contract filings for the organization
- Book travel, hotel and/or group meeting arrangements as needed
- Provide creative input and perform other duties per BAYCAT's needs


- Must have a passion and commitment to serve youth, young adults, and local underserved communities
- Two years or more of project management experience
- Organized and motivated to create an efficient and high-functioning studio environment
- Detailed-minded with the ability to prioritize and self-start
- Excellent time management skills
- Physical ability to travel throughout San Francisco
- Willingness to learn and further develop administrative and technology skills and abilities
- Strength in both oral and written communication
- Excellent computer skills and tech-savvy aptitude with proficiency in Word, Excel and shared information
- Proficient and technically savvy of a Mac computing environment and the latest operating systems
- Ability to interface effectively with a variety of people including team personnel, clients and vendors to
establish productive, ongoing relationships
- Creative, easygoing personality
- Ability to fit in a fast-paced, small office environment
- Commitment to personal and professional growth, and aligned with BAYCAT's core values
- Familiar with film/audio production equipment a plus
- Familiar with media production workflow a plus

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and a reliable individual with excellent
communication skills, ability to professionally manage and execute all aspects of an supporting the studio
needs, ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate several projects simultaneously, demonstrate a commitment
to working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds, and is an individual who is comfortable working
autonomously while also being a committed team player.
