Job Description

Position Summary: 

Bar Lucia Line cooks ideally will have culinary experience of at least 3 years, ability to read and execute recipes, understand and be able to execute kitchen operations. Strong work ethic and positive attitude.  

Qualifications:  

•   At least 3 years of experience as a line cook  •   Work efficiently, with a sense of urgency •   Ability to work clean and organized •   Experience executing plate builds and recipe follow thru to precision •   Must have a high level of professionalism and respect •   Familiar with industry’s best practices, cooking items and general kitchen communication

 Additional requirements: 

•   Responsive to incoming communication throughout the day •   Understands and responds to situations with appropriate sense of urgency and good judgment •   Must possess current Food Handlers Card   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 •   Support and Live the Bar Lucia Mission, Vision & Values •   Prep, Set-up and cook all menu items  daily. Ability to be self sufficient, well organized and manage time throughout shift. Support the kitchen team members with daily tasks to ensure readiness for service and work together as a team •   Execute all assigned prep tasks with the highest possible standards of accuracy and in a timely manner •   Assist in daily setup and break down of the kitchen •   Communicate kitchen needs to the General Manager. •   Taste food during production to ensure quality and consistency. •   Label, date and properly rotate all food and ingredients. •   Consistently uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation •   Assist with receiving and check in of orders  •   Ensure the kitchen and all storage areas are clean and organized •   Be knowledgeable of all food and beverage offerings and industry trends •   Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the General Manager  •   Attend and participate at all scheduled meetings and trainings • Communicate with management any product or service issues or opportunities for the Kitchen area •   Embrace change and deliver top results no matter the obstacle Work Environment:  


The physical demands of the position include:

 • Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation. • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). • Able to reach, bend and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. • Must have the stamina to work 50 hours per week minimum.
