Event Technology Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join our systems development team.

Reporting to the Head of Development the Event Technology Manager is responsible for the planning and delivery of Banks Sadler bespoke event technology (Engage) for client events.

This wide ranging position will be extensively involved with all aspects of the product, including ongoing software development, setting up event portals, co-ordinating content delivery from clients, delegate management and occasional onsite support. We work closely alongside clients to ensure that our tech is seamlessly integrated within their event.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work with both clients and colleagues from all departments to take an event technology brief
  • Being product owner on software projects
  • Review suggested venues and advise on the IT infrastructure capabilities to be able to support the use of Engage Event App
  • Edit and modify venue floor plans for uploading to portal
  • Provide accurate time estimates to build client portals
  • Provide a Statement of Works to deliver client portals and liaise with the client to ensure timely delivery
  • Develop a good knowledge of Banks Sadler products and services
  • Provide onsite technical support for Engage
  • Keep up to date with relevant advances in event technology
  • Work closely with venues in advance of events to ensure smooth onsite delivery
  • Carry out any reasonable request made by the Head of Systems Development
  • Maintain up to date project documentation on all active events
  • Assist with brainstorming new & innovative ideas


Skills and background required

  • Experience of working in an office and administrative environment
  • Interest in events & technology
  • A good working knowledge digital content management (HTML, CSS)
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • A good understanding of online communication tools, such as GoToWebinar, Webex, etc
  • Excellent client management and interaction
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication, numeracy and accuracy skills
  • Solutions orientated individual
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise projects and work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work using own initiative essential, as well as being part of a growing team
  • Ability to follow set processes and procedures
  • Ability to quickly build a good rapport with internal EM teams and suppliers alike


  • Knowledge of MS SQL
  • Previous software development experience or understanding (Java Script, Bootstrap)
  • Experience of working with Cvent and / or Eventsforce an advantage
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience of the Events or Travel industry
  • Degree in Event Management or Business Information Systems
  • Fluency in a foreign language (French and German preferable)

This is a full time, permanent position, based in our London office in Camden. The successful applicant will, at times, be expected to work away from the Camden office , onsite at events (worldwide), we anticipate that time spent away from the office will be approximately 10-30%.
