Backbase Academy is the one-stop shop for all training, certification, and onboarding of new professionals on the Backbase products. To improve and expand our community support material and technical documentation on my.backbase.com, we are looking for a technical writer to join the Community Management team.
You will produce material ranging from very technical/developer-oriented (editing the output of our technical professionals) to more broad technology pieces that you may write yourself from scratch. There is ample room for you to develop yourself to become one of the key voices of Backbase within our community. You play a central role in improving our offering to our user group, and as such are in close contact with this user group, amongst others through our Q&A forum, where you are responsible for answering or getting answers to the technical questions.
Together with the Community Manager, you will make sure all our partners and clients feel at home on my.backbase.com, and find the information they need, written in a style that fits the audience and is always up-to-date. Your audience ranges from very experienced Backbase professionals to junior developers just starting on Backbase. In combination with the complexity and nature of the product, built using the latest technologies, this makes working at Backbase Academy a great and challenging experience.
The successful Technical Writer will provide documentation and other knowledge transfer materials, creating a broad set of materials to instruct and inform users about our products. Materials include, but are not limited to: how-to guides, development methodologies, best practices, blog articles about new technology directions within Backbase, and about Backbase product and training developments in general.
You will write, edit and harmonize all of our technical documentation. You must be able to demonstrate a flair for working with developers and architects to create accurate content. You will work alongside the Community Manager, and will report to the VP Academy.
The perfect candidate for this position will match the following profile:
- Experience working as a Technical Writer (preferably coming from a developer role) with proven writing skills;
- Understanding and documenting APIs and services.
- Excellent didactic and conceptual thinking skills.
- Very good English writing/reading skills.
- Proven and thorough understanding of software and web technologies.
- Substantial experience in writing for software development companies.
