The Backend Support Developer is a member of the Backbase Products team, a multidisciplinary team of experienced and highly skilled UX designers, software developers, test engineers, technical writers and support engineers, guided by the Chief Architect and the Products Manager. This team is responsible for the entire software development life cycle of Backbase's product suite, including out-of-the-box solutions.
With your experience and skills, you will contribute to the quality of our software products, helping to realize successful customer implementations by our Professional Services consultants and partners. You will also benefit from the knowledge and experience of your Products colleagues.
We work in scrum teams to deliver new functionality in every release, closely cooperating with Product Managers and the Professional Services team. The complexity and nature of the product, combined with the latest technology trends, makes working in Products at Backbase a great and challenging experience.
The Backend Support Developer will work within our Product Support team. These guys analyze and troubleshoot Backbase customer issues, working with the Products team to develop ‘hot fixes’ to make Backbase products even better. If you’re the right person, you’ll be working with a highly skilled, international team dedicated to meeting customer expectations.
To make sure you’ll fit right in, your head should be filled with web technologies such as Java, Spring, and Hibernate, as well as application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, and JBoss. If you know much more than this, and eat SQL databases for breakfast, we’d love to meet you!
Before you contact us, make sure you have a bachelor's degree (preferably in one of the technical studies), 3-5 years’ programming and troubleshooting experience in Java/J2EE applications, and a flexible, can-do attitude to making things happen.

You will be expected to:
- Troubleshoot, debug code and create hot-fixes when necessary
- Strong JAVA coding skills required
- Have strong understanding of Maven or ANT and working knowledge of Spring / Hibernate
- Run SQL Scripts regularly
- Debug SQL
- Communicate with clients regularly both technical and functional
- Have a strong understanding of the Full Stack
- Engineer code solutions when necessary
- Report to the Amsterdam team while working in the Atlanta office
