The opportunity 

HR at Backbase is about building the organisation, maintaining relationships and empowering people and organization. As HR Manager you must take pride in shaping and professionalizing the global HR strategy for Backbase to the next level. You want to make a difference and strive for continuous improvement. You serve as a link between the organisation's management and its employees.You will be based in Amsterdam and report to the CEO.

You will advise and guide the Management Team and people managers about global HR topics such as contracts, legal changes, compliance, benefits, employee satisfaction, HR analytics and many more special cases where HR help is needed. You are a service minded problem solver. One of the current topics is: how to reduce exposure to compliance issues and other risks.

You will lead and mentor the global HR strategy and team. This is a very hands-on position for an experienced HR Manager or runner-up with a background in a fast growing environment.

As the HR Manager we expect you to:

  • Share a global HR vision, mission and strategy

  • Guide, inspire and mentor the Management and HR Team

  • Give HR legal advice on perm, temp and remote staff in NL and other countries

  • Focus on employee retention program

  • Lead and advice on HR topics like pensions, employee insurance, WGA-ERD, subsidies

  • Ensure close and flawless cooperation with Payroll team

  • Monitor and improve HR processes and quality

  • Monitor and improve HR metrics

The current HR team consists of 5 professionals.

This is who you are:

You love HR and people love working with you because you are down to earth and full of energy. You are native Dutch and familiar with Dutch HR legislation and institutions. Besides this you are comfortable working with expats and experienced in working for remote offices. You tick all below boxes:

  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience in an international, fast growing (ICT) environment;

  • Able to act as a strategic business partner;

  • Able to build trusting relationships;

  • Experienced with HR compliance;

  • Proven experience with HR legal topics and other topics, pensions and employee insurance;

  • Proven experience with employer insurance and global employee benefits;

  • Respect the importance of confidentiality;

  • Native Dutch and fluent communication in English.
