A leading university is seeking a Student Services Officer to support student programs and services within a designated department or academic unit. This role guides students on a variety of academic and administrative matters, including program requirements, student records, and available resources, while ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures. The ideal candidate combines strong customer service skills with analytical abilities to support student success and enhance program operations.

Student Services Officer Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and administer student records, analyze student data, and provide guidance on eligibility, course enrollment, and program requirements while exercising judgment within established policies and procedures.
  • Advise students on academic progress, program policies, career planning, accessibility resources, and community standards, while identifying students in crisis and connecting them with appropriate support services.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and cross-functional university partners to resolve programmatic issues, support recruitment initiatives, and inform students about research, fellowship, and scholarship opportunities.
  • Collect and analyze data from surveys, feedback, and trend reports to prepare recommendations that improve programs, processes, policies, and student service offerings.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, technology enhancements, outreach initiatives, and educational events, while assisting with financial and administrative processes as needed.
  • May provide training and oversight to staff, student employees, volunteers, and temporary workers.

Student Services Officer Qualifications:

  • 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Customer service experience with the ability to advise and support individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using relevant computer systems and technologies.
  • Understanding of financial transactions and administrative processes.
  • Ability to learn and apply university policies, legal requirements, financial guidelines, and external regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experience working in higher education, student services, academic advising, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in analyzing data and preparing reports to support program improvements and decision-making is preferred.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and university administrative processes is preferred.

Shift:

  • 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • On-site on Tuesdays.
